Settlement of a licensing agreement dispute

BTG Advisory was appointed by the claimant, a leading brand name corporate entity, to provide forensic accounting and expert witness services in relation to a licensing agreement dispute.

Our forensic services team focused on the defendant’s counter-claim for financial losses arising from alleged breaches, including the report and complex extensive quantum calculations prepared by the opposing accounting expert. BTG Advisory produced an expert report on the matter of quantum and demonstrated that assuming the alleged breaches had occurred, the assessment made by the expert for the defendant was unsupported and the amount claimed was materially overstated. 

Following a meeting of experts, a joint statement was produced and shortly after the case was settled in favour of the client, the claimant.
