BTG Advisory, part of the Begbies Traynor Group, has appointed Kate Beckett as partner, expanding the scope and expertise of its growing forensics team.
Kate, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, joins BTG Advisory from a top ten accounting firm and brings almost two decades of specialised forensics experience, including ten years as a partner, delivering vital insight into strategic and commercial decisions arising from forensic work.
For her clients, which include individuals, owner-managed businesses, SMEs, large corporates, Private Equity houses and Non-Governmental Organisations, she advises on a range of areas including commercial disputes, investigations into allegations of accounting irregularities and valuations of private company shareholdings.
Her in-depth forensics knowledge sees Kate regularly appointed as an expert witness, ‘shadow’ expert and independent adviser to clients across multiple industries delivering reports and testimony.
Kate’s appointment continues the significant growth of the forensics team at BTG Advisory, expanding from one to six senior members in the team in the last 12 months. These appointments include Sannan Khan as partner and National Lead for Investigation, Integrity and Compliance Services, Jack Clitheroe, partner and regional head of dispute services, Katie Alldrit-Rose as director, and Phil Sandland as senior manager.
Richard Pughe, BTG Advisory partner and head of forensic services, said:
“Bringing Kate on board is a great addition to our expanding Forensic Services team at Begbies Traynor. She has consistently delivered outstanding work for her clients and is well regarded across the industry for the advice she delivers in high-profile cases”.
“I am very much looking forward to working alongside her as she drives our team in Leeds and the North East forward. We’re accelerating the forensics offering of the firm, and Kate’s knowledge and expertise – alongside our other recent appointments – will fuel the development of our offering across the UK. Our clients will value and benefit from the strategic advice she gives and how she will help them navigate the ever-evolving business landscape.”
Kate Beckett, BTG Advisory partner, said:
“There is a clear focus on building our forensic services offering to clients across the UK and the firm has already made significant, strategic appointments. It is evident that the additions during the past 12 months have added to the talent and the scope of the team already here. Being able to bring different advice and skillsets from across the Group will also enable us to support clients in a number of other fields too.
“This is a very exciting time to be joining BTG Advisory and I am looking forward to getting started.”
